Automated readout of logistics information

Using a robot, we were able to read information from emails and automate the corresponding activities, in this case the creation of a logistics order.

Before we optimized the process, different branches of the international company sent mails to the head office to order franking labels.

Often these mails were then printed out, then the labels were ordered individually on the website of the logistics provider and then these labels were emailed to the field offices.

Using RPA, we built a robot that reads the required information from the freely formulated mails and then enters these orders into a database. At night, an RPA robot then reads the database and orders the labels via the web and sends them by email to the orderer. The turnaround time was thus reduced from 36 hours to a maximum of 12-14 hours and the manual effort was reduced by 80% to a low-threshold control.
